Liverpool supporters were not hugely enamoured by their team’s performance in Wednesday night’s FA Cup replay against Plymouth Argyle, but Jurgen Klopp’s side got the job done.
Only one goal separated the two teams in the third-round fixture at Home Park, and it was unlikely scorer Lucas Leiva who nabbed it.
The midfielder, who has been used as a centre-back at times throughout the season, found the back of the net with a header from a corner kick.
That 18th-minute moment was the only positive goalmouth action for the Reds, as Divock Origi had a late penalty saved, while Plymouth had a handful of opportunities to force the clash into extra time.

The home side’s best chance of the game fell to Jake Jervis with 15 minutes on the clock, but his scissor kick ended up striking the wrong side of the post.
Klopp fielded a number of youngsters, but he also included first-team stars Philippe Coutinho, Daniel Sturridge and Origi in the starting lineup.
On Twitter, Liverpool fans expressed their joy in reaching the fourth round, but they did not feel too positive about the display.
